What others say about my writing...

Until Shiloh Comes is an incredibly well-written story of the challenges and struggles faced in the Montana wilderness. The author has done an exceptional job of encompassing strong spiritual beliefs with a compassionate and tastefully written love story. His detailed descriptions of scenery and characters bring vivid images to mind as you read each chapter. I found Until Shiloh Comes to be appropriate reading for both younger and older adults. Mr. Starr has truly found his calling as a Christian author, and I look forward to reading more of his work.

Do you enjoy a good mystery? How about a cowboy story? Do you have an interest in the Civil War? Perhaps your taste runs towards romance and love stories or books with a spiritual theme. You can get all of this if you just sit back and open the pages of Robert Starr’s Until Shiloh Comes. Set in the post Civil War era, during a bitter cold Montana winter, the story opens with a mysterious stranger riding up to a ranch owned by the beautiful widow, Sarah Hadley, and her daughter Hannah. Who is this stranger who calls himself Shiloh, and can he help solve the murders that have plagued the ranch before his arrival? Interwoven with stories of slavery and the Civil War, and studded with colorful characters and a tender love story, Until Shiloh Comes is a book that will keep you enthralled until the very end.

Robert Starr's Until Shiloh Comes is an exceptionally well-written novel that chronicles the lives of several folks on the Montana plains in the 1800's. The characters are well-developed and the dialog is impeccable. I was especially impressed by Starr's knowledge of the American Old West and his ability to place the reader right in the thick of 19th century Montana prairie life. Until Shiloh Comes is a wonderful book for Christians or those exploring their own faith, as well as an entertaining read for fans of westerns. In addition, there is a love story component and a 'who done it' thriller all wrapped up in this single fast-paced 200 page novel. Until Shiloh Comes is appropriate for readers of all ages.

Until Shiloh Comes, written by Robert Starr, is an incredible book set in the Montana wilderness during the late 1800s. Very seldom does one find a book that is filled with mystery, suspense, action and murder but yet honors God at the same time. Robert Starr will keep you turning the pages of his book to see how the story unfolds as he brings to life the characters of his book. Just when you think you have the murder solved, the story changes, and the ending will surprise you. Until Shiloh Comes is a book that I highly recommend, it is a well-written, clean and honorable book, that any member of the household would be privileged to read. I can promise you, that this is one book that you will want to have in your personal library and one that you will read time and time again.
